Robin Hurt Safaris was established in 1975, and our photo safaris operate under the very personal direction of Charlie McConnell. Brought up on a farm near Mt. Kenya, Charlie has vast experience in organizing and guiding safaris not only in East Africa, but in the Sudan, the Congo (Zaire) and Ethiopia. Mouse McConnell, Charlie's wife, is from a prominent Kenya farming family, and holds a French diploma in catering. She is responsible for all the mouth-watering food on your safari, including her own marmalade label. When there are more than four people in the group, Mouse joins Charlie on the safari. When travellers have children from a similar age group, the McConnell children often come along, providing a bonus cross -cultural experience for young visitors to Africa.
SAFARI GUIDES (Profiles and photos) Great care is taken to ensure your guides are the best in their profession, well known to us, with a great sense of humor, long experience in the bush and an intimate knowledge of Africa’s wildlife and its habits. The guides - all of whom speak fluent Swahili, East Africa’s lingua franca - will ensure that your safari is an unqualified success. Robin Hurt Photo Safaris prefer quality over quantity, devoting attention to detail for a small but elite group of travellers each year. We do not have scheduled departures but tailor each itinerary to suit your special interests. You are assured of comfort and great privacy, an off the beaten path adventure where you are unlikely to encounter other travellers, but plenty of wildlife.
