RATES and TERMS
Rates are usually by quotation and reflect the nature of the arrangements, the length of the safari and (especially) the number of people in the group. Each itinerary publishedon this website provides a price guideline for usual group sizes.
OPTIONS
The luxury safaris we offer satisfy the needs of a fairly broad spectrum of discerning safari-goers; from comfort-minded adventurers to the most fastidious of wildlife enthusiasts. To help clarify the choice available, the following list has been drawn up to show the merits of our top-of-the-range safaris over the other luxury option.
- Better rebates for children; up to 30% vs. 15%.
- An air charter, for one of the longer legs, is included for each full week on safari.
- More staff e.g. four clients would have 10 staff instead of 7 or 8.
- Large insect-proof showers and bathrooms actually attached to the sleeping tents, rather than smaller separate ones.
- More luxurious camp furniture, with a small library, mahogany tables and chairs and Turkish carpets.
- Large tents with a single bed and a double bed in every tent vs. smaller tents (with double bed as option).
- Four course dinners (vs. three courses) off fine china, with silver.
- Only four guests per safari vehicle.
- One professional guide per each vehicle vs. one or possibly two professionals with larger groups, and other vehicles driven by English speaking drivers.
- When camping on ranches and private land RHS pays an excess, if necessary, to keep other groups away, ensuring your camp and adjoining area is very private.
- When stopping overnight between camps, the accommodations are at the most luxurious lodges in suites or cottages, when available, vs. regular rooms and some restriction on the lodges used, due to expense.
- Rates unchanged for Tanzanian section of itinerary, if included.
It is not always necessary to decide which type of safari you wish to book until it is time to finalize the itinerary. You can book using the lower price for your deposit, thereby securing dates for your safari. Later we will help you decide between the two alternatives.
INCLUDED
While on some safaris certain items are offered as options, our costs always include:
Experienced and professional safari guides.
Game drives in custom-built 4-wheel drive Land-Cruisers.
Luxury full board accommodation in mobile tented camps.
All drinks in our safari camps, including beer, wine and spirits, but not French champagne.
Exclusive use of carefully chosen, remote campsites.
Full board lodge accommodation during camp moves.
Booking, Camping and Entry fees to the Game Parks and Reserves.
Membership of the Flying Doctors' Society.
The safari price does not include accommodation or activities outside the specified safari dates.
BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
- Once you have confirmation of your safari dates, a deposit of 30% is required. Safari dates and guides cannot be reserved without doing this and the first party to send a deposit covering certain dates will secure them.
- Three quarters of the deposit amount is immediately refundable with at least 6 months notice of cancellation (with the balance being charged by us as a handling fee). When notice is received less than 6 months prior to the scheduled safari departure date, the deposit will be retained as a cancellation fee.
- Changes can usually be made to safari dates provided personnel and facilities remain available but, if a safari is postponed less than 6 months prior to its starting date, the deposit cannot be refunded later under any circumstances. Postponement is usually limited to one year.
- The balance for the safari should be paid one month before the safari starts and, once received, is not refundable.
INSURANCE
You are not covered by our insurance while on safari. We suggest that you make arrangements so that you and your property are fully insured for the duration of your safari. You are advised to take out a Comprehensive Travel Insurance Policy, which should also cover you against the loss of payments in the event of cancellation.
LIABILITY
Although every possible care is taken to safeguard you and your property, we accept no liability to clients for any accidents, injuries or illness incurred or arising from any safari outfitted by ourselves, or for loss or damage to clients' property during such safari. While every effort is made to maintain equipment in first class condition, the Company cannot undertake to immediately replace any item that might malfunction in the course of a safari.
GENERAL
The right is reserved to alter the itinerary should this be considered necessary or advisable, and in our guests' best interests.
All prices are quoted in US Dollars and should exceptional circumstances arise the company reserves the right to alter its quotations.
By booking and paying a deposit for a safari, you are deemed to have accepted the liability and insurance clauses outlined above and are also deemed to have understood and accepted all of the booking and cancellation conditions.
